conversations on conservation [+ animal welfare] episode 8: International Women's Day Special - women in conservation
Please join us as we celebrate International Women’s Day and World Wildlife Day. From Team Lioness, a group of all-female anti-poaching rangers in East Africa, to staff in the office whose efforts behind the scenes enables the day-to-day successes of life-saving projects; women play a critical role in accomplishing IFAW’s mission to help animals and people thrive together in the place we call home.

We work with communities all around the world and it’s the women of these communities who are leading the charge to protect local wildlife. IFAW is composed of so many dedicated women around the world, like those in Australia who care for and rehabilitate koalas caught in bushfires, the Maasai women who are the frontline protection for elephants in Kenya, and the female veterinarian in Mexico whose weekly trips to the nearby Mayan community ensures that no families are parted due to the cost of pet care. It is their local knowledge that we rely on when in need of project leadership and guidance. Their work on the ground and in the office leads to real and truly sustainable solutions that improve the lives of animals and people.

It is the impact of their work that we recognize on World Wildlife Day; a time to celebrate and raise awareness of the wild animals and plants around the globe.

In this episode we will meet and hear from some incredible women as they participate in a round table discussion on the part they play in protecting wildlife. You will get the chance to ask questions and hear from IFAWs behind the scenes key players in conservation. We’re surely in for an empowering, relevant and impactful chat that you won’t want to miss.

IFAW is here for the long-haul thanks to the support of our donors.
